The Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, (Hebrew: מכון שכטר למדעי היהדות‎, Machon Schechter) located in Jerusalem, Israel, is an academic institution affiliated with Conservative Judaism first established in New York.

Founded in 1984, the Schechter Institute is located in Neve Granot, a neighborhood behind the Israel Museum. Starting with four rabbinical students, it now has an enrollment of over 450.[1] The Institute, which offers a Master's program in Jewish Studies, is affiliated with the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary, the Tali Education Fund, which develops Jewish studies curricula for secular schools in Israel, and Midreshet Yerushalayim.[2]

The new campus designed by Israel Prize laureate Ada Carmi will include a library, a synagogue, a Beit Midrash and classrooms. The cost of the project is $22 million.[3]The old building, dating back to the early 1960s, was originally used as student housing for rabbinical students of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America doing a mandatory year of study in Israel.
